    Scapa Flow 12th - 20th October 2012
Dive the best wrecks in Europe - Scapa Flow

    Why dive Scapa Flow?

The main attraction to Scapa Flow is the WWI German High Seas Fleet, entombed in the still green waters since 1919 following their scuttling by Admiral Von Reuter.

Three 25,388 tonne battleships, four light cruisers and numerous other sites related to the sinking lie within the main body of the Flow - all offering fantastic diving.

Covered in life, massive guns and breathtaking levels of preservation means these wrecks have something for everyone. October is a great time of year to dive these wreck, waters are warm, plankton will have dropped so visibility will be at it's peak.

For 2012 we are returning to the Halton - a liveaboard. A regular trip for Seastyle and we are very excited at the prospect of returning again.

    The package includes:

6 days diving - 2 dives per day
7 nights Half Board Accommodation staying aboard the Halton
Scrabster to Stromness Return Ferry Crossing
12 or 15 litre cylinder Hire
    Air Refills
    Weights
    Cost - £695.00

    Boat and Accommodation information

The MV Halton was originally built in Denmark in 1973 in the distinctive Danish style. In the winter of 2002/3 she underwent a major conversion, moving the wheelhouse forward so as to allow space for a galley/saloon above deck whilst six twin berth cabins were fitted out below deck. Halton Charters is now able to offer full live-aboard charters in the Flow and further afield: trips have sucessfully run as far afield as Shetland, Sule Skerry, North Rona and Kyle of Tongue

Above decks she has a spacious, centrally heated saloon with cussioned seating for 12 people. An ample galley provides copious amounts of tea, coffee to warm up after long dives. Wide bench seating allows for 12 divers to kit up with plenty of room on the aft deck. Cylinders are filled where you sit, with air or nitrox. Single 12 litre and 15 litre cylinders and block weights are available to use free of charge.

    About Orkney

Orkney is the group of islands which lie off the northernmost tip of Scotland.

The archipelago of Orkney consists of around 70 islands, although only 17 of these are currently inhabited. Orkney has a population of around 19,500. The largest island of the group is known as 'Mainland' (divided into West Mainland and East Mainland) and is the location of the two main towns of Orkney - Kirkwall and Stromness.

Orkney boasts a rich cultural heritage - impressive archaeology, including the Neolithic Orkney World Heritage Site, traditional folklore, music festivals. Orkney is also home to a large number of artists and craftspeople.

Orkney is almost totally absent of trees but, with a shore line of approximately 500 miles, its beautiful sandy beaches and rugged sea cliffs more than make up for this.

Eight percent of the land area in Orkney is made up of 11 RSPB reserves. Immense sea cliffs, wetlands and loch shores and the heather covered hills help support the rich variety of Orkney’s bird life

Orkney's location between the North Atlantic and the North Sea enjoys a temperate climate and as such a wealth of sea life. Arguably the most impressive of which are the sea mammals. From seals in their abundance to shy otters and impressive whales and basking sharks.

It is renowned for its locally produced food and drink - from quality seafood and organic beef to local cheeses - and of course, the beer from the Orkney Brewery and the single malts from the Highland Park and Scapa distilleries.
