Swanage Pier Day Trip Saturday 3rd July - Meet time 9am on the Pier with you gear set up, ready for the dive briefing.

Enjoy a days shore diving under the pier at Swanage, this is one of the UK's best shore dives.

Lesley Harper will try to ensure things run smoothly all round. Lesley will be responsible for diving activities and for safety: please make her life easier by following any instructions/directions given.

If you have booked an escorted day - can you please settle up prior to the day itself.

Swanage Pier can be dived at any state of the tide. In the summer months the pier legs are completely covered with invertebrate life and the marine life is varied. Sea squirts, sponges, hydroids, tompot blennies, the rare black faced blenny (first identified in 1972), wrasse, sea bass, crabs, the list goes on!

Transportation: Please arrange you own transport, and their is limited car parking on the pier itself, cost last year (2009) was £6.00 plus £2.00 per diver. There is also a pay and display near to the pier - suggest packing a trolley if you have one.

The pier opens at 8am and closes approx one hour before dusk

Please ensure that you bring plenty of water or diluted squash to keep hydrated throughout the day.

One DSMB/Reel must be carried by each buddy pair, (unless you are booked on a guided dive) ideally each diver should be equipped with one.
 
Equipment hire: Must be pre-booked. Cylinders can be refilled on the pier at Divers Down cost for Air £3.50 approx.

Ladies and Gents toilets on the pier each with a hot shower.

Viz is an expected 3 to 6 metres and water temp 14 degrees C approx

Lunch is available to buy on the pier

Directions, the post code BH19 2AR If you don't use a sat nav, multi map, AA, Google & RAC will also provide route maps for you.

Escorted dives if you have booked an escorted dive your dive guide will be either Lesley or Mel.

Non guided divers must ensure they have a dive buddy and provide Lesley with their in water run time, you are responsible for your own dive plan
